Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa said that the government will set up more rooms on the State Budget for infrastructure development.

“We will allocate more of the State Budget to infrastructure. If later on, we have optimization budget, we will push it towards infrastructure.  If there is any budget surplus, we will also allocate that to infrastructure,” said Hatta, today.

The government, Hatta continued, has also readied incentives for State-owned companies, private or foreign direct-invested companies directly working on infrastructure projects.

“We will propose this to the President – who will later decide – so that there will be incentives for infrastructure development,” he said.

Moreover, Hatta added, the government has planned to simplify the procurement of goods and services as well as direct appointment to State-Owned companies for vital projects.

The process of goods and services procurement is based on presidential decree in efforts to accelerate and cut the process short without being negligent to the principles of impartiality and accountability.

“This is greatly required, especially in relation with down payment concerning multi-year contract,” he said.
