Hero Gains 22.4% Profit

VIVAnews - PT Hero Supermarket Tbk. (HERO) recorded net profit valuing Rp 32.05 billion (US$3.02 million) in the first quarter of 2009.  It is 22.4 percent higher compared to the same period in 2008 of Rp 26.27 billion.

Meanwhile, net profit per share reached Rp 97 from the previous Rp 79 per share.

Hero's management stated in a financial report announced by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in Jakarta on Monday, May 4, that the company's net sales reached Rp 1.52 trillion, higher than the same period in 2008 of Rp 1.35 trillion.

Cost of goods sold reached Rp 1.15 trillion higher than first quarter in 2008 with Rp 1.04 trillion. The increase caused gross profit to hit Rp 378.03 billion compared to the previous Rp 306.94 billion.

Meanwhile, business profit earned Rp 47.79 million, higher than the first quarter in 2008 of Rp 36.3 billion.

During that period, total asset reached Rp 2.25 trillion with Rp 786.94 billion of equity. The liabilities reached Rp 1.47 trillion.
