RI Lanjutkan Negosiasi Kerja Sama Dagang Eropa

VIVA.co.id – Pemerintah Indonesia sepakat untuk melanjutkan negosiasi European Free Trade Association (EFTA).

Kesepakatan itu diambil, setelah terjadi pertemuan bilateral antara Presiden Joko Widodo dan Wakil Presiden Swiss Doris Leuthard, di Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, Rabu 30 Maret 2016.

"Perundingan Indonesia-EFTA sejauh ini sudah berhenti atau tidak ada aktivitas selama tiga tahun. Kita sepakat lanjutkan negosiasi," ujar Menteri Luar Negeri Retno Marsudi, usai mendampingi Presiden Joko Widodo. 

Menurutnya, kesepakatan ini sebagai langkah maju untuk membangun perekonomian. "Ini merupakan langkah maju signifikan untuk upaya kerja sama ekonomi," katanya.

Dalam berbagai kesempatan, Presiden Jokowi selalu menekankan bahwa Indonesia tidak akan bisa lepas dari kerja sama-kerja sama perdagangan bebas seperti EFTA ini.

Contoh, Indonesia kini sudah masuk ke dalam Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN atau MEA. Amerika Serikat juga menawarkan Trans Pacific Partnership atau TPP.
