VIVAnews - There have been four fertilizer factories which have acquired the export permit from Trade Minister, as a continuance of the fertilizer export recommendation sent by Agriculture Minister Anton Apriyantono to Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu on Sept. 16.
Director for industrial and mining product exports of the Trade Ministry Albert Yusuf Tubogu confirmed that the four factories have obtained the permit since Sept. 17.
"[The permit] has been issued based on the Trade Minister letter per Sept. 17," said Tubogu to VIVAnews in Jakarta on Thursday, Sept. 24.
The total exported fertilizer, which has been approved by Trade Minister reaches 478,000 tons and covers fertilizer from PT Pusri (196,000 tons), PT Petro Kimia Gresik (16,000 tons), PT Pupuk Kujang (58,000 tons), and PT Pupuk Kaltim (208,000 tons).
He added that the export period will end in December 2009. The government decides to export the fertilizer due to domestic production excess which is estimated to reach one million tons.
