VIVA – The National Capital Authority (IKN) of the Nusantara feels optimistic that they can create a world-class capital city. Because it supported by the concept of a smart city through environmentally friendly builders, energy efficiency, and larger green areas.
The Coordinator of the Information and Communications Team of the IKN, Sidik Pramono, conveyed that IKN Nusantara will establish a healthy city, and provide a variety of world-class services.
"IKN Nusantara prioritizes a city that is healthy, efficient, pedestrian-friendly, providing security, health, education, and other services, so that it becomes a world-class innovation center," Sidik Pramono said in a release on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
IKN Nusantara has been designed to save water consumption, improve health and the environment, use energy-saving and environmentally friendly equipment, and use renewable energy by utilizing solar thermal energy.
The development of the IKN Nusantara continues to maintain the forest area, which is setting as much as 75 percent of the IKN area or 256 thousand hectares as green space, that 65 percent is a protected area and 10 percent is a food production area.

IKN development combines the concepts of forest city, smart city, and sponge city. So, the designation of this new capital city is not only for humans, but other creatures will also feel it.
Sidik Pramono also appreciated the efforts of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) to find out the direction and political preferences of the younger generation in the future, namely the institution announcing the results of a survey on the views of the younger generation on the development of the IKN Nusantara.
According to the survey results, it was found that the younger generation believed that the government would succeed in building IKN. So, the results of this survey could be an initial reference for the IKN Authority to explore the level of understanding of the younger generation towards the development of this new capital city.
The results of this survey make the IKN Authority more optimistic about realizing a world-class capital city for all because IKN does not only belong to the government, but also to all Indonesian people, so the younger generation needs to participate in IKN development.
"Furthermore, the IKN Authority seeks to increase the introduction of IKN to all regions in Indonesia, universities, and the wider community. We are confident that IKN will succeed with the younger generation," Sidik Pramono remarked.
Meanwhile, the results of the CSIS survey show that as many as 51.4 percent of respondents believe in the success of the IKN program, namely a survey of 1,200 respondents aged 17 to 39 years from 34 provinces in Indonesia.
