VIVA – Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) launched a new train with luxury facilities called Panoramic. This soft launching was carried out on December 24, 2022, with an additional Taksaka train trip (Gambir - Yogyakarta). This Panoramic train will operate until January 8, 2023.
"The Additional Taksaka train coupled with the Panoramic train carriage has been running since Saturday, December 24 until January 8, 2023," said KAI Public Relations Manager for Yogyakarta Operation Region (Daop) 6, Franoto Wibowo in Yogyakarta, Sunday, as reported by ANTARA.
Each additional Taksaka train will be coupled with one Panoramic train carriage which has a capacity of 46 seats.

KAI introduced the Panoramic train offering different sensations and experiences when taking the train to travel. Passengers can enjoy the scenery freely throughout the journey. The Panoramic Train is a KAI innovation train that has very large windows on both sides and a glass roof extending from front to back that can be opened and closed automatically.
Not only that, but the facilities on the Panoramic Train also include comfortable seats that can be rotated to face the window, window curtains that can be controlled remotely, spacious toilets with automatic sensors, a television on the end wall of the train, and a special luggage rack at the end of the train.
Panoramic Train customers will also receive special services such as free snacks, food, drinks, and blankets.

Currently, KAI has a total of two Panoramic Train units which are innovations from the KAI Surabaya Gubeng Balai Yasa. In the future, it is possible that KAI will add Panoramic Trains to various series and KAI will continue to make improvements to other passenger train facilities so that customers become more comfortable while traveling.
"Panoramic Train is a form of KAI innovation to improve services, especially during the Christmas and New Year Transportation period. The public has more choices of travel classes according to the tariff and service," one of the KAI said.
To introduce this Panoramic Train, KAI provides a promo in the form of discounted fares for purchasing additional Panoramic Taksaka train tickets. During the promo period, additional Panoramic Taksaka train tickets are sold starting from IDR750,000, and the quota for this promo ticket is very limited. The ticket can be purchased on the KAI Access application, the KAI website, and all other official KAI sales channels.
