President Jokowi Issues Perppu Number 2/2022 on Job Creation

VIVA – The Indonesian President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) issued a Government Regulation Substitute for the Law or Perppu on the Job Creation Law. This Perppu was issued by President Jokowi today, Friday, December 30, 2022.
"This morning, we have consulted with the president and were asked to announce the government's stipulation for the Perppu on job creation," Minister of Economy Airlangga Hartarto remarked on Friday.
Minister Airlangga said President Jokowi has coordinated with relevant institutions such as the House of Representatives (DPR). According to Airlangga, Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani has received information regarding the issuance of this Perppu.
"Earlier, Mr. President has consulted with the Speaker of the House and in principle, the Speaker of the House has been informed about the Perppu on job creation," Airlangga remarked.

This Perppu is based on laws and regulations and the Constitutional Court decision number 38/PUU-VII/2009, and it’s publishing today.
"Today, Perppu Number 2 of 2022 has been issued and dated December 30, 2022. The considerations are firstly urgent needs, the Government needs to accelerate anticipation of global conditions," the minister said.
The global condition in question is about the threat of a crisis in various fields. "Both related to the economy, we are facing a global recession, an increase in inflation, then, the threat of stagflation, also several developing countries that have entered the IMF are more than 30 and have also queued 30," Airlangga explained.
