President Jokowi Inaugurates Mutiara Sis Al-Jufri Airport

Palu – The Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Thursday inaugurated Mutiara Sis Al-Jufri Airport in Palu City, Central Sulawesi.
"There was damage to the airport due to the 2018 earthquake, so the runway and terminal were damaged and reconstruction and rehabilitation needed to be carried out," the Head of State said.
The President said that the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Mutiara Sis Al-Jufri Airport cost IDR 567 billion, with a runway length of 2,500 meters and a width of 45 meters.
"With such an area, Mutiara Sis Al-Jufri Airport can accommodate wide-body aircraft,"
According to President Jokowi, with a large enough budget, he hopes that the airport can be used by the community and increase the mobility of passengers and goods in the Central Sulawesi region.
"I have checked the workmanship and everything has changed, it's getting prettier and better so it ready to be used," the President remarked.
In addition from inaugurating Mutiara Sis Al-Jufri Airport, President Jokowi also inaugurated other airports, namely in Banggai Laut Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, Gorontalo Province and North Sulawesi virtually.
"We understand how important airports are, so the government is carrying out construction and improvements to make things easier for people," the Head of State further said.
After inaugurating Mutiara Sis Al-Jufri Airport, President Jokowi visited Anutapura Hospital in Palu as well as inaugurating a new building which was also rehabilitated and reconstructed after the earthquake.
