Jakarta – Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has increased Whoosh trips from the previous 40 trips per day in February, to 52 trips per day to serve the 2024 Eid homecoming travelers.
KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary, Eva Chairunisa stated that KCIC has set the Eid transportation period from 3 - 18 April 2024. During this period KCIC will operate 40 regular Whoosh trips and 12 additional trips.
"This increase in the number of trips is KCIC's anticipation of the potential surge in passengers which often occurs as in previous long holiday periods," Chairunisa said in a statement in Bandung, on Thursday.
She added that with the increase in travel schedules, the time between the Whoosh during peak hours has reached up to 25 minutes.
Whoosh will operate from 6:40 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. for Halim - Tegalluar connections and 5:50 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. local time for Tegalluar - Halim connections.

"This allows passengers to have more options to choose a travel schedule that suits their needs," she continued.
According to her, based on observations to date, the people's favorite date is starting from April 5.
She further added that tickets that had been sold on the favorite date and time had reached more than 80 percent. This number will continue to change due to ongoing ticket sales.
“We want to provide everything we can to improve service to passengers. In the midst of high public mobility during the Eid holiday period, it is hoped that various additional services can make passenger travel more comfortable," Chairunisa conveyed.
Meanwhile, the addition of the Whoosh trips schedule was also balanced by the addition of the Feeder Train trip schedule by KAI to Bandung and Cimahi.
"KCIC has also coordinated with all other intermodal operators to meet the continued transportation needs of passengers from Whoosh Station to various other destinations," she concluded.
