Lampung – Indonesian Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy visited Lampung on Friday, for a coordination meeting in preparation for the peak of Eid al-Fitr return flow, predicted on April 13-15, 2024.
Both ministers held a coordination forum together with the National Police, ASDP Indonesia Ferry, and local governments to plan for the handling of the return flow at three main ports in Lampung: Bakauheni Port, BBJ Muara Pilu Port, and Panjang Port.

According to Minister Sumadi, Bakauheni Port will be the main focus, while BBJ Muara Pilu Port and Panjang Port to serve as support ports.
"Bakauheni Port as the main port, and the others as supporting ports," the minister said in a statement.
Minister Sumadi remarked that Panjang Port will be designated for two-wheeled and private vehicles, while BBJ Muara Pilu Port will be for pickups and similar vehicles.
In addition, the police to regulate vehicle travel during the peak of the return flow, and ASDP was asked to ensure smooth operations at the ports.
Meanwhile, Lampung Police Chief Inspector General Helmy Santika, explained that his party have categorized the 2024 Eid al-Fitr return flow into three categories: green, yellow, and red.
The green category indicates normal conditions, yellow indicates queues up to 1 km from the port gate, and red indicates queues up to 4 km from the port gate.
To address traffic congestion, the police will implement a delay system using rest areas and buffer zones when reaching the yellow category, and will activate all rest areas and buffer zones when reaching the red category.
