Wika Ready to Build 1,000 Affordable Homes

VIVAnews - The Indonesian government plans to develop affordable homes for the poor at the prices of between Rp 20 million and Rp 26 million per unit.

State construction agency PT Wika Realty is ready to back-up the project together with other firms under Realestat Indonesia (REI).

Wika Realty Commissioner Muhammad Nawir said in a statement that a study is underway on the selection of materials for the the coming project.

He went on to say that, "we're prepared to build around 1,000 affordable homes."

Earlier, Nawir said that the company is willing to put up healthy yet simple homes for low-income people at the price of Rp 55 million per unit. "[The projects] are in Bandung and Sukabumi. In fact, the homes in Jakarta have been sold out," he said.
