VIVAnews - Panel of Judges at the Mataram Court, Indonesia, gave life sentence over a Malaysian, Chow Kit Nang, for smuggling 3.17 kg of meth worth Rp7.5 billion (US$876.372).

"Chow Kit Nang gets a life sentence for importing class I narcotics by more than 5 grams to Indonesia," said Judge Mion Ginting on Monday.

During the court session, Chow, accompanied by an interpreter, seemed relaxed.

Chow proposed an appeal after hearing the verdict.

When reporters tried to have her commented on the decision, Chow said, "I don't want to say anything."

Chow Kit Nang was found carrying 3.17 kilograms of meth at the Selaparang Airport, Mataram, November 2. He took Kuala Lumpur-Surabaya-Mataram flight of Merpati Nusantara Airlines.

The evidence was installed on the upper part of a suitcase. Airport officers had suspicion on his belongings after the X-ray scanner detected some irregular materials. A search was conducted instantly, resulting in the finding of the said meth.
