House Calls Off Plan to Set Up New Building

VIVAnews - The House of Representatives (DPR) months earlier had planned to build new building which had sparked controversy and roused public opinion. The scheme is currently dropped.

"The construction plan is cancelled and the budget is recalled to the State," House member Ganjar Pranowo said on Friday, Oct 21.

Earlier, Deputy Chief of DPR Internal Affairs, Pius Lustrilanang, said DPR had annulled most of the spending for the new building.

The undoing of DPR new building, said Pius, was a result of the annulment of the bidding processes based on a meeting between DPR Internal Affairs and Public Works Minister in May 2011.

It was revealed that the new building would be worth Rp777 billion.
