Indonesia Tax Officer Allegedly Evades Tax

VIVAnews – Directorate General of Taxes of the Ministry of Finance is still looking into the case that has allegedly let in a tax officer with the initials of DA. 

“The case is still under investigation as we still need complete information. It’s actually not DA, but DW.  DW is DA’s husband,” said spokesperson of the Directorate General of Taxes, Dedi Rudaedi, in Jakarta, today. 

According to Dedi, DW is no longer an employee of the Directorate General of Taxes since January 2012.  “DW has been transferred to the Jakarta administration's office. Meanwhile, his wife, DA, happens to be a tax officer,” he said. 

He said the Directorate General of Taxes will investigate the extent of DA’s involvement in the alleged tax violation.  

“We are committed to solve this problem. If we find the violators, then we will show no mercy,” said Dedi. 

Dedi said DA right now is still working at the Directorate General of Taxes. The investigation team will proceed with the presumption of innocence. “We are probing into the problem, so there’s no need to rush into tax evasion,” he stated. 

Earlier, Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo said on Thursday, Feb 23, that a tax officer was allegedly embraced in tax evasion. The officer has the initials of DA.
