Indonesia Must Proceed with Stimulus Package

VIVAnews - The International Monetary Fund suggested that developing countries proceed with the stimulus package.

IMF Senior Resident Representative Milan Zavadjil said in a forum 'Indonesia in 2010: Asia's Emerging Powerhouse' at the Intercontinental Mid Plaza on Wednesday, Nov 18, that the stimulus package helps stimulate domestic market. A country needs a stimulation to boost the economic recovery with regard to the economic downturn.

"Asia, including Indonesia, must issue accommodating policies to boost [the economy] taking into account Asia's GDP still depend on on external demand," he said.

Milan acknowledged that Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan and China are among countries relying upon external factors to recover.

He said the stimulus package is required in line with Japan's weak experience in coping with demand.
