VIVAnews - The composite stock price index in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) gained 0.06 percent (1.52 points) to 2,535.88 in the early transaction today, Jan 4, 2010.
According to an analyst at PT Sucorinvest Central, Gani Gifar Indra Sakti, the positive movement of the regional index such as Hang Seng and Nikkei boosted the increase.
However, he acknowledged that investors should monitor the pseudo-increase of the index because the gain last year was not propped up by strong transaction volume.
Meanwhile, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, witnessing the trade opening, expressed his gratitude to the investors due to the soaring index by 87 percent in 2009.
