Four Die in Hospital Due to Blackout

VIVAnews - Four patients admitted to dr Pirngadi Hospital, Medan, North Sumatra, died due to a blackout on Monday, Feb 8. The electricity cut caused the electric life support devices in the hospital to lose their functions.

The deceased patients included OM Pangaribuan, 83, Herbet Lumban Tobing, 73, Very Capri, 19, and Duriati (an infant).

However, one out of the four deceased had passed away prior to the electricity cut, according to acting managing director of the hospital dr Dewi Fauzyah.

OM Pangaribuan had been critical since he was brought in to the hospital, and was breathless in the ICU ward. Meanwhile, Duriati the baby was departed due to asphyxia.

"She was gone around 1.30 p.m. after the electricity was back to normal," said Dewi.
