Search of Landslide Victims to Be Ceased

VIVAnews - The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) recorded that until today, March 1, the death toll from the landslide in Ciwidey, West Java, reached 33. The search and rescue team is still trying to locate the buried victims, while other 936 villagers are taking refuge.

Based on a meeting yesterday, Feb 28, the search of the lost victims will be ceased today at 12 pm.

Joint forces from the Indonesian Military, Indonesian Police, Search and Rescue, Tagan, Indonesian Red Cross and locals are still in an attempt to locate the victims. After 12 pm today, the emergency status will also be lifted.

In addition to causing death to the locals, the disaster damages 50 homes, one factory, one cooperative office, one sports hall, one polyclinic, one office, one mosque, one bridge and 1.5 hectares of tea plantation.
