VIVAnews - The Indonesian government expected that the nation would become world's center of halal-labeled products as Muslim and non-Muslim communities have readily accepted such products.
According to Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa, approximately 1.4 billion of Muslims and non-Muslims worldwide are fond of halal-labeled products.
"We must respond constructively to the request on halal products so as to boost the economy. Indonesia has to be the center of world's halal-labeled products," he said on Friday, August 12.
Full attention must be paid over global standards of halal labeling in that people will not hesitate to purchase halal-labeled products.
"The standards of excellence for halal products must be made regular," he said.
The idea of establishing a halal center and halal science centers in some universities in Indonesia is mostly estemed.
