VIVAnews – Head of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Abraham Samad admitted that he has yet to receive the official result of Century’s forensic audit released by Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
Abraham confirmed that whatever the results are, Century case is still KPK’s main focus. Abraham said that with or without BPK’s forensic findings, Century will still be KPK’s main concern.
“The audit findings have not been handed in formally to KPK until today,” Abraham said today, Dec 28. He said that BPK’s forensic audit findings will be KPK’s preliminary evidences.
However, Abraham continued that KPK is not just focusing on BPK’s findings, but will also find other supporting evidences. “When we have more evidences, we can explain the case better to the public as to its development,” he said.
He also denied the rumor saying that KPK’s previous leaders tried to cover up the Century case.
“The previous KPK leadership said that (the case) is not done yet. Not yet doesn’t mean No, but it means that there are evidences that are not proven yet. It means that KPK continues to gather more evidences to complete the existing evidences,” explained Abraham.
BPK’s Findings
BPK’s forensic audit findings of Century case concluded that there were 13 findings and two additional information in relation with the flow of Century Bank’s funds. The findings are as follow: One, the sales of Century Bank’s securities US Treasury Strips (UTS) of US$29.77 million was corrupted by FGAH (HAW and RAR).
The sales of UTS of US$41 million with net of US$38.86 million which US$30.28 was not received by Century Bank. According to DBSL, the money was used by FGAH as credit warranty in DBSL, and then liquidated to pay FGAH’s credit of US$29.77 million. The remaining US$0.51were transferred to Century Bank’s account in Standard Chartered New York.
The second finding, the fund transfer transaction of the sales of Century Bank’s securities US Treasury Strips (UTS) of US$7 million was turned into a deposit of PT AI in Century Bank under the orders of Head of Treasury of Century Bank. BPK concluded that the fund transfer is not normal because there weren’t any underlying transactions, therefore it was detrimental to the bank, thus burdening the Temporary Equity.
The third finding is that the securities arranged in AMA scheme of US$163.48 million have past its deadline, but weren’t able to be liquidated. BPK concluded that THL has violated the regulations by not liquidating the bond of US$163.48 million or Rp1.78 trillion.
