VIVAnews – The Ministry of Finance revealed that the focus of subsidized fuel restriction in 2012 will only be directed towards premium gas for Java and Bali.
According to Finance Minister, Agus Martowardojo, the 2012 State Budget mentioned that the reduction of subsidized fuel will be carried out by allocating subsidized fuel accordingly.
“Premium gas will only be available for public transportations, public services, and motorcycles,” said Agus Martowardojo today, Jan 5.
Agus said that the scheme of limiting subsidized fuel nationally will be applied in stages. The government will consider the availability of means and infrastructures in each area.
Based on the roadmap issued by the government, fuel restriction in 2012 will only be implemented in Java and Bali.
Moreover, in 2013, the government will expand the areas of subsidized fuel restriction to Sumatra. In this stage, the limitation will also be implemented to diesel fuel by mid-2013.
Subsidized fuel restriction will be applied in Kalimantan in the same year.
The policy will finally be put into force in Sulawesi by 2014 for premium and diesel fuel. Meanwhile, for Maluku and Papua, the restriction will begin in the middle of 2014 for premium and diesel fuel.
