VIVAnews – The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) has received reports from the Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), Marzuki Alie, regarding a number of projects proposed by DPR Secretariat General. One of the projects is the remodelling of DPR Budget Agency's office worth Rp20 billion.
“What I am getting here is that the secretariat’s mechanism is usually using reporting mechanism. Well, in this case, the Secretary General (Nining Indra Saleh) didn’t report completely,” Bambang Widjojanto, KPK Deputy Chairman, told VIVAnews on Monday, Jan 23.
In the meeting, he added that Marzuki also explained about the renovation issues of the Budget Agency's workspace. Meanwhile, KPK discussed more about issues on DPR in general.
“We requested for more access, not just to manage the case, but also to prevent and to map out potential issues, so we can build a more reliable accountability system in the House of Representatives,” he said.
If there is crime in this case, then more evidence will be sought after.
“If there are 2 evidence, we will move up the process,” he said.
In his report, Marzuki did not mention any names and just reported the case as the Secretariat’s projects. KPK said it will check whether negligence or intentional misconduct was indicated in the project.
As previously reported, Marzuki filed report on a number of projects proposed by DPR Secretariat General in 2010 on Friday, Jan 20.
Marzuki guaranteed that the reports submitted to KPK were not intended to accuse anyone of committing corruption.
“I am certain that the Secretary General is not involved in this,” Marzuki said.
