According to the Director of Health Service Governance at the Ministry of Health, Sunarto, several hospitals have selected.

"Some hospitals have been selected. The selection has also calculated the distance from the main venue, namely Apurva Kempinski to the referral hospital,” Sunarto remarked during a virtual press conference on September 22, 2022.

The Ministry of Health in appointing a referral hospital is determined from the calculation of the time that has been carried out. When there is an incident that requires health services, the distance required to go to the hospital the furthest is 48 minutes, and the closest is 13 minutes. Even so, at the main venue, there will also be a health clinic and a Mini-ICU.

“So, we have calculated. However, there is nothing if for example someone is taken directly by ambulance. But this is the standard for emergency management. But still, in Apurva Kempinski there is also a clinic and a Mini-ICU,” Sunarto explained.

"While the Ministry of Health is only for delegates such as Ministers, Ambassadors, and others, there are around 600 people. In addition to having a mini-ICU and health clinic, there is also a 24-hour mobile team," Sunarto added.

For the mini-ICU, several health facilities are prepared, such as patient beds, examination beds, desks, and mobile ventilators in case of heart and lung emergencies. In the mini-ICU, there will also be a cardiologist, and an anaesthesiologist, and supported by general practitioners as well as trained nurses.

They will be on standby apart from Apurva, as well as at 21 other hotels where the delegates are staying. The details are 10 hotels in Nusa Dua, 3 hotels in Kuta, 3 in Tuban, 3 in Jimbaran, 1 in Sanur, and 1 hotel in the Uluwatu area. The Ministry of Health will also divide seven health service zones during the G20 Summit. Each zone will have a mobile team on standby for 24 hours.

“For the presidency, a presidential ambulance is prepared. There are two mini-ICUs at Apurva Kempinski and GWK, one health clinic unit at Apurva Kempinski, and there are also four mobile teams," Sunarto said.

For the preparation of these health services, the Ministry of Health cooperates and coordinates with the State Secretariat, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment, and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

As known, there will be seven international and regional hospitals that will become referrals at the G20 Summit, including IGN Ngurah Hospital, Bali Mandara Hospital, Udayana University Hospital, Siloam Hospital, BIMC Nusa Dua Hospital, Bhayangkara Hospital, Tk II Udayana Hospital.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic in the world, and Indonesia in particular, has been able to be controlled, Sunarto said that health protocols are still being implemented. Before leaving, the delegates were required to fulfill several requirements with the PeduliLindungi application.
