Indonesian Immigration Launches Second Home Visa for Foreigners

VIVA – The Directorate General of Immigration (DGI), Ministry of Law and Human Rights, has officially launched the second home visa for foreigners. The visa details are stated in Circular Number IMI-0740.GR.01.01 of 2022 concerning the Granting of a Second-Home Visa and Temporary Stay Permit issued on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.

Acting Director General of Immigration, Widodo Ekatjahjana, stated the implementation applies to certain foreigners or former Indonesian citizens who will stay and contribute to the Indonesian economy.

"The second home visa is valid for 5 to 10 years. They can carry out activities such as investing or working," Widodo Ekatjahjana said at the launch of a second home visa in Bali on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.

The launch was also attended by Bali tourism actors. According to him, it is necessary to cooperate with stakeholders for the economic recovery of Bali tourism.

Widodo also explained that the cost of obtaining a second home visa is IDR 3 million. Payments can be made outside the territory of Indonesia through the available PNBP payment portal.

"This immigration policy is one of the non-fiscal incentives that can be a stimulus for certain foreigners to stay and contribute positively to the Indonesian economy amidst increasingly dynamic global economic conditions," he remarked, 

Foreigners can apply for a second home visa can be done easily through a website-based application (visa-online.imigrasi.go.id)

The required documents are as follows:

 a. Copy of passport that is valid for a minimum of 36 (thirty-six) months;

 b. Proof of Funds in foreigners' or sponsors' bank account (must be placed in Indonesian state-owned banks) of at least Rp2,000,000,000 (two billion rupiahs) or equivalent;

 c. Recent color photograph (4 cm x 6 cm) with a white background.

 d. Curriculum Vitae.
