BYD Introduces Two Advanced Technologies in Its Electric Cars

Jakarta – The Chinese manufacturer, BYD (Build Your Dreams), introduced the advanced e-platform 3.0 and 8-in-1 powertrain technologies in three of its electric cars, which have been launched in Indonesia, namely BYD Atto 3, BYD Dolphin, and BYD Seal.
Tatsuya Mikami, Chief Advisor of BYD Japan, conveyed that BYD's revolutionary technology, including the 8-in-1 powertrain and e-platform, marks a new chapter in the sustainable industry transformation.
"This reflects BYD's commitment to shaping a smarter, eco-friendly, and responsive future of transportation," he said at JIEXpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.
According to Mikami, the use of the letter "E" in front of the word "platform" signifies the electrical connection within the platform, with "3.0" added because it is integrated with the blade battery.
"This e-platform 3.0 has four advantages, which can comprehensively maintain the performance of BYD electric vehicles," Mikami informed.
The four advantages start with the exclusive design of the e-platform 3.0 body, ensuring the safety of pure electric vehicles because the blade battery is attached to the body, enabling temperature monitoring and body strength maintenance.

Furthermore, the safety of e-platform 3.0 is also supported by the lower body aesthetics of the car and a longer wheelbase, freeing up vehicle aerodynamic design and improving the car's appearance.
"This e-Platform 3.0 also features a high-efficiency electric power system that can make the vehicle lighter and increase its efficiency," Mikami remarked.
In the design of e-platform 3.0, BYD integrates the motor, gearbox, inverter, DC/DC converter, and other important components into one unit, providing benefits such as space savings in the car body.
"This approach not only reduces vehicle weight and increases efficiency but also maximizes cabin space for driver and passenger comfort," Mikami revealed.
Mikami added that e-platform 3.0 is crucial as a technology created by BYD for electric vehicles.
