VIVAnews - The Indonesian government has yet to talk back on issues of cow export ban by Australia. Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Hatta Rajasa, claimed he did not get any report on the export ban matter.
Earlier, the Australian government decided to stop exporting livestock to several slaughterhouses in Indonesia following the broadcasted video of violent acts against animal in an abattoir.
Australian Minister of Agriculture, Joe Ludwig, said on Tuesday that the export ban is set out after an evaluation over a number of stockyards was carried out.
Meanwhile, Trade Minister, Mari Elka Pangestu admitted that her department has been informed of the issue.
"Would you please confirm about the matter to the Ministry of Agriculture?" Mari Elka said.
However, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Bayu Krisnamurthi, denied the news. He emphasized Indonesia's importance as cow importing country.
