VIVAnews - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono already signed a letter of dismissal for the suspect of alleged bribery case of SEA Games athletes’ village development, Muhammad Nazaruddin, as a member of the House of Representatives. The former treasurer of Democratic Party officially took off the status of the people’s representative.
"The letter was signed by the president as of September 6, 2011," said presidential spokesperson Julian Aldrin Pasha today.
Julian said that the carbon copy of the letters related to Nazaruddin’s dismissal as a member of the House has been sent back to the parliament. "Already delivered to the one who process it," he said.
Julian denied that the letter has long been untouched on the president's desk. "Letters addressed to the president must go through examinations to avoid errors," he said.
As is known, Nazaruddin has been named as a suspect of bribery case in the development SEA Games athletes’ village in Palembang. Nazaruddin became a fugitive for nearly two months before being captured in Colombia.
However, so far Nazaruddin still received a salary as a member of the House.
