VIVAnews - Indonesia has strong economic fundamentals, so it will be able to face the impact of the risk of a global slowdown occurring in the U.S. and Europe.
ANZ Vice President Director of Consumer Banking, Mr. Ajay Mathur, said that Indonesia is an independent country and not much affected by the global condition because its domestic growth is still high.
"I see the resilience of Indonesia's economy is strong enough to face the global crisis, because Indonesia does not depend on foreign countries. The gross domestic product (GDP) also grew 6 percent," said Ajay on the sidelines of ANZ promotion in Ubud (Bali) Writers and Readers Festival today in Jakarta.
According to him, in spite of the crisis, Indonesia can still rely on its own assets. Compared to a few years ago, the condition of Indonesia is considered much safer.
ANZ Panin Bank is optimistic it can channel credit over the growth of Indonesia. ANZ’s credit is channeled 60 percent to companies and 40 percent for consumer loans such as mortgages and credit cards. ANZ now has 33,000 customers.
