Clinton's Visit

Suciwati to Hand Over Letter to Clinton

VIVAnews - Suciwati, wife to the late Human Rights activist Munir, will meet US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. In the occasion, Suciwati will hand over a letter to Clinton.

"I will come to encourage the United States to ask about Munir's case to the Indonesian [government]," Suciwati told VIVAnews on Wednesday, Feb 18.

It is planned that Suciwati will meet Clinton by around 8 pm at National Archive building, Central Jakarta. However, Suciwati will not be given a special session.

According to Suciwati, she always happens to meet other countries' Foreign Ministers every time they visit Indonesia. The talks have always been concerned with Munir's killing.

"Probably, I will ask for a minute or two to hand over a letter to Clinton. The letter has surely to do with Munir's case," said Suciwati. Suciwati will be escorted by Coordinator of Human Rights Working Group Raffendi Djamin in tonight's meeting.

Suciwati said the letter will aim at enabling the United States to query the Indonesian government regarding the progress of Munir's case.
