VIVAnews - PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI) and a US-based company, Alliant Techsystems Inc., signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for meeting the supply of range products. It is expected that the collaboration may open a new market in the United States.
The agreement will enable PT DI to observe the market in North and South America. "We will offer our products in the areas. Alliant is experienced in those areas," Budi Santoso, PT DI President Director, said on Wednesday, March 11.
He went on to say that the chance to expand to the United States is wide open since the niche market for small airplanes is promising. "PT DI has a chance to penetrate the market because we have certification for simple aircrafts."
The cooperation will facilitate both companies to show their specialties. PT DI masters small airplanes whose engines are, among any others, NC 212 and CN 235, whereas Alliant specializes in large aircrafts.
President Director of Alliant Techsystem, David L. Sharpen, said the cooperation is a chance to create a synergy between both companies. "This is a good start for both companies," he said.
