He said, Banten police has implemented a traffic engineering scheme in the Gerem that closer with Merak’s toll gates and Gerem street, Merak that leads to Top Cikuasa road on Thursday morning.

"On the spot, we reported that at Gerem we were doing traffic engineering here leading to the Top Cikuasa road. So, at Top Cikuasa, on the flyover, where we waited if the conditions in Top Cikuasa were quiet, we would send them there” said Alfaris Pattiwael.

The Banten Police are also coordinate with PT Marga Mandalasakti (MMS) as the manager of the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road.

"We have (coordinated). So, we have carried out the socialization long ago, even from PT Marga Mandalasakti (MMS), as the toll manager has carried out the socialization, starting from the implementation of the green, yellow, and red zones," said Alfaris Pattiwael .

Based on Antara's observations in the field at 5 am, there was traffic congestion at the Merak Toll Gate. Similar conditions also occurred on Gerem street where a traffic engineering scheme was also applied.

Based on data released by ASDP Merak Branch, as of Wednesday, April 27 at 8 pm, the number of passengers crossing from Merak Port was recorded as 261,741 people.

This number consists of pedestrian passengers as many as 12,307 people and passengers in vehicles as many as 249,434 people.

The number of vehicles crossing from Merak was recorded at 60,734 vehicles, with 9,129 motor vehicles, 32,218 cars, 2,044 buses and 17,343 trucks.
