Actually, this unusual city is a forbidden zone because there is a Nuclear Power Plant (PTLN) in Fukushima.

In March 2011, the PTLN was hit by an earthquake and tsunami until it was damaged, causing the city to become contaminated. Hundreds of thousands of residents were evacuated because the area within a radius of 20 kilometers was deemed off limits.

However, a man named Naoto Matsumura chose to stay in the most unique and strangest city. The 50-year-old man is the only returning resident of the 16,000 people who once occupied the city. He was in an area without electricity and water, but Matsumura persisted in caring for the abandoned land and animals.

According to Outlook Traveler, Nagoro would not be widely known had it not been for the services of Ayano Tsukimi, a skilled doll maker.

Tsukimi has made life-sized dolls to fill this town as the population is shrinking from year to year. Although it has been mentioned that artists in other Japanese villages have also made dolls to make them live, it is Nagoro Village that attracts tourists the most.
