VIVA – President Joko Widodo received a courtesy visit from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China or PRC (China) Wang Yi at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta on Monday, July 11, 2022. This meeting is a follow-up meeting of several activities carried out by Wang in Indonesia.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi who accompanied President Joko Widodo said that Wang Yi as the Foreign Minister of the PRC (China) appreciated Jokowi's attitude and efforts to seek world peace by visiting Kiev and Moscow.
"During the meeting, China also appreciated Indonesia's various efforts to try and find a peaceful resolution to a peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine. Including specifically mentioning the president's visits to Kiev and Moscow," Retno Marsudi said at the Office Jakarta Presidency on Monday, 11 July 2022.

According to Retno Marsudi, the meeting also discussed various bilateral issues. Among other things, the commitment of both parties to continue to improve mutually beneficial bilateral relations.
Retno conveyed, as it is known that in 2021 the trade between the two parties will experience a very significant increase. More than 54 percent and reached a value of US$ 110 billion.
Then, President Joko Widodo and Wang Yi also discussed various priority projects between the two countries. Including projects or efforts to complete the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project.
"This increase in trade is also followed by a deficit from Indonesia which continues to decline and we see that market access for superior Indonesian products are increasingly entering the Chinese market," Retno Marsudi said.
