VIVA – The Indonesian government supports the Lake Toba Authority Implementation Agency (BPODT) which is preparing for sport tourism by holding the F1 H20 or known as the F1 Boat Race and will take place in Toba Lake, March 2023.
"Every year, we have a calendar of Lake Toba events with international and national activities," Raja Malem Ukur Tarigan as Director of the Tourism Industry and Tourism Institutions BPODT said to reporters in Medan City on Tuesday afternoon, July 27, 2022.
This F1 Boat Race is an idea from the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno with the purpose to introduce Lake Toba tourism to the world through this international event and to attract tourists from other countries and regions in Indonesia.
"We are supported by the government, in Mandalika there is a motorcycle race, next year we will have a boat race, which is called the F1 Boat in March 2023. This international event can attract visitors," Raja said.

According to Raja Malem Ukur Tarigan, his party in developing the Toba Lake area not only held international sporting events. However, it is also in the development of facilities such as hotels, hospitals, performance locations for international events.
"Toba is coming in 2023. BPODT will strengthen the involvement of the Batak Diaspora around the world in the development of the Lake Toba area and support the implementation of a tourism calendar of events in the Lake Toba area," Raja said when accompanied by BPODT President Director Jimmy Bernando Panjaitan.
As information, BPODT manages the authoritative area of ??Lake Toba in Ajibata District, Toba Regency, covering an area of ??386.72 hectares, which is named Toba Caldera Resort (TCR).
The TCR area has been opened to the public since last November 2021 and has been visited by approximately 100,000 visitors. In this area, there are 12 Bobocabin owned by Bobobox as an exclusive place to stay. There is also a bell tent, a tent equipped with standard hotel facilities that is managed by BPODT.
BPODT has also received several letters of interest from several potential investors. In the near future, BPODT will hold a tender for the utilization of assets in one of the lots in the south for the construction of villas and hotels with an investment value of 400 billion.
