Bioanalytical Laboratory UI-DF Can Boost Bio Industry Development

VIVA – The Bioanalytical Laboratory UI-DF is ready to open or can be used for the analysis of biological, biopharmaceutical, and therapeutic protein recombinants. The inauguration was carried out on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, by representatives from the Daewoong Foundation, the University of Indonesia, and the Ministry of Health.
Since 2019, the Daewoong Foundation (DF) and the University of Indonesia (UI) have collaborated to establish the Bioanalytic Laboratory UI-DF.
The Bioanalytic Laboratory UI-DF was built based on GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) which occupies one of the rooms on the 4th floor of the Integrated Laboratory Research Center Building, University of Indonesia.

Daewoong Foundation representative, Chang Woo Suh, Ph.D. said that Daewoong Foundation is happy to boost the development of Indonesia's bio-industry.
"As representatives of the Daewoong Foundation, we are very pleased to be able to encourage the development of Indonesia's bio-industry by establishing the first bioanalytic laboratory, in collaboration with UI, the best university in Indonesia." Chang Woo remarked in the inauguration remarks.
Not only has purpose to analyzes medicine, but this laboratory also aims to revitalize research in the field of Biotechnology in Indonesia and contribute to fostering bio-talents by conducting research in the best facilities.
This newly opened bioanalytic laboratory is expected to be used in various collaborative research, for non-profit organizations, and government and private institutions that require related research.
The Chancellor of the University of Indonesia, Prof. Ari Kuncoro SE. MA Ph.D. who was also present at the inauguration expressed his gratitude for the support from the Daewoong Foundation to develop resources in the biofield and for UI talents in conducting successful research in an advanced environment.
"In this bioanalytical laboratory, we will create outstanding research results to contribute to the development of the domestic biopharmaceutical industry and then make it an example of a model of cooperation between Indonesia and Korea," Prof. Ari Kuncoro remarked.

According to one of the pharmacy officers at the bioanalytic laboratory UI-DF, she said that this laboratory was a grant from the University of Indonesia in analyzing the needs of medicines and others. This laboratory already includes complete equipment.
"This laboratory is complete (equipment and components), perharps, later this lab will collaborate with external parties," Pharmacy officer at the Bioanalytical Laboratory UI-DF.
As information, the launch of the UI-DF Bioanalytic Laboratory marks the start of laboratory operational activities, collaborative research, and a means of disseminating information related to laboratory facilities and opportunities for collaboration between the Bioanalytic Laboratory UI-DF and external parties in the future.
