VIVA – Several countries have qualified to the World Cup finals but always failed to win the trophy, one is the German national team, which has entered the World Cup final four times.
Most recently, the country often entered the final but failed to win the title, namely the French national team after being defeated by the Argentine national team on penalties. Here are some countries with the most defeats in the World Cup Final, as follows:
1. Italy (World Cup 1970, 1994)

Italy has been to six finals, four of which they have won. The Azzurri won the World Cup twice in a row in 1934 and 1938. The other two were in 1982 and 2006. But the Italian national team also failed to win the title in 1970 and 1994 when they were overthrown by the national team of Brazil.
2. France (World Cup 2006, 2022)

The French national team is the second country to enter the finals but always fails to win the World Cup trophy. During its participation in the World Cup, the team entered the final four times, but France was only able to win both World Cup titles in 1998 and 2018.
While the two defeats in 2006 were when facing the Italian national team through penalties and most recently, the French national team had to recognize the superiority of the Argentine national team, again through penalties. The French national team was unlucky if the match had to be continued through the penalty shootout.
3. Argentina (World Cup 1930, 1990, 2014)

The Argentine national team was the first team to lose when the World Cup was held for the first time in 1930 and was defeated by Uruguay. While the next defeats were in 1990 and 2014, both legs were defeated by the German national team.
However, the Argentina national team in the 2022 World Cup managed to advance to the final round and came out as champions after overthrowing the national team France on penalties.
4. Netherlands (World Cup 1974, 1978, 2010)

The Dutch national team is one of the countries that produced some extraordinary players. But so far, the Netherlands has never tasted the World Cup title during its participation in this once-in-four-year event. The Netherlands has felt the heat of the World Cup final three times.
In the first World Cup final in 1974, the Dutch national team was inhabited by players like Johan Cruyff who was a Barcelona football legend. But in the final match, the Dutch national team had to recognize the superiority of the German national team, the second defeat in 1978 was overthrown by the national team of Argentina and in 2010 had to be eliminated by the national team of Spain.

The German national team is the country that has entered the final round the most because German national team has tasted the World Cup title four times and the last time in 2014 when overthrowing the Argentine national team.
However, the German national team has also fallen four times in the World Cup Final match, namely in 1966, 1982, 1986, and 2002. The German national team is also listed as the most successful team in the World Cup but only lost one title to the Brazilian national team which has collected five World Cup titles.
