VIVA – The Indonesian government expects entrepreneurs from Shandong Province, China to invest in various regions of Indonesia after the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Shandong is a province with the third-highest GDP in China. For that reason, we hold trade, investment, education, culture, and tourism promotion events in Dezhou City, Shandong,” Ambassador of Indonesia to China Djauhari Oratmangun stated in Beijing, Monday while elucidating on the reasons behind targeting entrepreneurs from the eastern region of China.

In 2022, Shandong's GDP grew 3.9 percent to 8.7 trillion yuan (IDR 19.2 trillion). The achievement of this figure makes the province that houses several well-known electronic equipment brands, such as Haier and Hisense, the third largest GDP in China.

"This is also the reason why we hold trade, investment, education, culture, and tourism promotion activities in Shandong, precisely in Dezhou City," Oratmangun stated.
