Tourism Industry Slowly Improves amid Covid-19 Endemic Situation

VIVA – Tourism Industry is slowly improving amid Covid-19 endemic situation in Indonesia, according to Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno. 

"I feel optimistic that tourism, economy, and creative sectors creative will improve after Covid-19 pandemic. So, (we) can create many job opportunities," Minister Uno stated. 

He informed, employment in the creative economy tourism sector is projected to increase significantly by around 700 thousand with a total of 20.58 million jobs. 

This statement is supported by data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), noting that the level of foreign tourist visits in the January-November 2022 period was 4.58 million, up 228.30 percent compared to the same period last year.

From this data, it can be concluded that the aviation industry has also felt the impact. Throughout 2022 to 2023, the tourism and aviation industries indeed seemed to get a better increase. 

One of these successes was shown by Via.com Indonesia, which was awarded as Top Performing Agent for 2022 - 2023 from Qatar Airways in March 2023.
