VIVA – PT Kreta Indo Artha (KIA) has just launched the latest variant of the MPV segment, Kia Carens which now comes with a captain seat configuration in the second row and a 1,500cc naturally aspirated engine with IVT transmission.
Marketing & Development Division Head of PT Kreta Indo Artha, Ario Soerjo said that the launch of the latest variant of Kia Carens can increase sales until the end of 2023, and give consumers trust in Kia's presence in the Indonesian automotive market.
"We hope that the Kia Carens 1.5L IVT 6-Seaters can increase sales, and convince consumers that Kia is serious about remaining in the Indonesian market, and serving all consumer needs," Soerjo said on the sidelines of the launch of the latest type of Kia Carens, at Senayan Park, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
The Kia Carens 1.5L IVT 6-seaters is presented to answer the needs of Kia users who want an MPV with good cabin spaciousness and premium comfort in the second row.

The presence of this car will complement the previous variant that has been marketed in Indonesia, the Kia Carens 1.5L IVT 7-seaters.
Under the hood, the Kia Carens 1.5L IVT 6-seater features a 1,500cc Smartstream Gamma II engine. This engine offers 115 Ps of power at 6,300 rpm and maximum torque of up to 144 Nm at 4,500 rpm.
The power and torque are channeled to the 2 front wheels through an 8-speed IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission) transmission system. To customize the driving style according to your needs, the Kia Carens 1.5L IVT 6-seaters has three driving mode options; Sport, ECO, & Normal.
Then, to improve fuel efficiency, the Kia Carens 1.5L IVT 6-seaters is equipped with an Idle Stop & Go feature that will turn off the car's engine when stopped in traffic or stop-and-go conditions.
The Kia Carens 1.5L IVT 6-seaters feature a bold, dynamic, and futuristic exterior design. The combination of chrome accents combined with the sporty character of a crossover results in an attractive design.
This car is also equipped with 16-inch diameter alloy wheels with a touch of dual-tone color that further adds to the luxurious impression of the Kia Carens. Not to forget, the presence of a roof rail on the roof further complements the MPV Crossover style of the Kia Carens.
Then, for the interior, Kia Carens emphasizes a luxurious feel and presents a variety of excellent features, also adding comfort for drivers and passengers while driving, such as Front Ventilated Seats which function to cool the 2 front seats, then there is a Sunroof, Ambient Light.
There is also Wireless Charging that will make it easier for passengers and drivers to charge smartphones wirelessly. Type C smartphone charging is also available in all rows of seats.
Passengers and drivers of the Kia Carens will be enjoyed by presence of an infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen head unit that can connect to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly and is supported by premium audio from Bose with 8 speakers.
The new Kia Carens utilizes a captain seat configuration that further adds to the luxurious feel inside the cabin. For access to the third-row seats, there is a One Touch Electric Tumble feature that can fold the second-row seats automatically with the push of a button.
For safety features, the Kia Carens 1.5L IVT 6-seaters is equipped with 6-point Airbags and is also equipped with Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Hill Start-assist Control (HAC), Downhill Braking Control (DBC), and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Regarding the price, Kia Carens 1.5L IVT 6-seaters is worth IDR 414,600,000, the Kia Carens 1.5L IVT 7-seaters at IDR 407,600,000, and the Kia Carens 1.4T DCT 6-seaters at IDR 467,600,000.
