China – Dozens of sheep have been walking in circles for 12 consecutive days in northern China's Inner Mongolia region. The strange behavior, captured on surveillance video, shows a large flock of sheep continuously walking clockwise in a near-perfect circle on a farm.
Several other sheep can be seen watching from outside the circle while others occasionally stand motionless in the center.
The unusual sight was captured by CCTV and the video was posted on Twitter by Chinese media outlet People's Daily. In the viral video, a flock of sheep on a farm line up and continue to spin clockwise and form an almost perfect circle.

Meanwhile, the owner of the sheep, Miao, claims that the circling movement was started by a few sheep before eventually being followed by the rest of the flock.
"Although there are 34 sheep pens on this farm, only the sheep in one of the pens number 13 are acting like this," Miao said.
The flock is known to have been behaving like this since November 4. It is not known whether they stopped eating or drinking. However, they are said to be in good health.
This phenomenon has raised questions in the minds of netizens. Some speculate that the sheep's strange behavior is caused by a disease carried by the Listeriosis bacteria.
As quoted from the official page of the Merck Manual veterinary guide, this bacteria comes from contaminated food and attacks the nervous system, resulting in paralysis and behavioral changes. The bacteria can also infect humans.
"Initially, affected animals experience anorexia, depression, and disorientation. They may push themselves into corners, lean on stationary objects, or spin in circles towards the affected side," reads a statement from Merck Manual.
