COP28: Bakrie Reveals Indonesia's Efforts to Handle Climate Change

Dubai – President Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bakrie & Brothers (BNBR), Anindya Novyan Bakrie revealed the efforts that Indonesia has made in handling climate change.
This was conveyed at the COP28 Climate Change Summit, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Anindya Bakrie became one of the speakers in the discussion entitled "Boosting Green Skills to Accelerate the Climate Transition".
"The Indonesian government has designed various programs to boost green skills, which focus on roles and communities," Bakrie said, quoted from YouTube tvOneNews on Sunday.

"Now, we have to look at Indonesia, where we are pushing to modernize decarbonization efforts in the world," he continued.
Anindya Bakrie explained, there are at least three things that need to be considered from the efforts that Indonesia has made, in overcoming the problem of climate change.
The first is to maintain and assess Indonesia's biodiversity which has the third largest forest in the world.
"We actually have a lot of rainforests and peatlands, which can absorb more CO2 than forests. In addition, we also have coral reefs and seaweed," Bakrie remarked.
Second, Bakrie emphasized Indonesia's efforts in electrifying combustion engines. This is because Indonesia has important underground mineral resources that can be processed such as nickel, copper, tin, and zinc.

It's known that COP28 is the 28th annual UN climate meeting, which was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from November 30 to December 12, 2023.
In COP28, governments from various UN member countries, including Indonesia, discussed how to overcome and prepare for the problem of global climate change in the future.
