VIVAnews – The family of the victims and the general public demand that the driver of Daihatsu Xenia B 2479 XI, Afriyani Susanti, to apologize directly and not represented by her family or her attorneys.
However, the Police said that the woman is still unable to be presented before the public because she is still under investigation.
“Later, there will be time for her to be presented before the public. Please be patient,” said Head of Metro Jaya Police Public Relations, Chief Comm. Rikwanto in Jakarta, Friday, Jan 27th.
He said that Afriyani will be presented before the public after the investigation of the accident that killed 9 people in Jalan Ridwan Rais, Central Jakarta, is completed.
“The investigators still question her,” said Rikwanto.
He said that Afriyani’s questioning yesterday took hours.
“The questioning was done in phases. It lasted for hours,” he said.
One of the victim’s family members, Mulyadi Hamdan, said he and his family will never be able to forgive the Xenia driver that killed his son, Ari alias Buhari, 17.
Mulyadi said that although Afriyani Susanti’s family visited his house with a thousand apologies, he will never forgive her.
“I will never forgive. Not before she receives a death sentence or a lifetime imprisonment,” said Mulyadi.
Even if her family members visited his house and ask for forgiveness, he will remain unaffected.
“I welcome if the suspect’s family wants to pay a visit here, I have no problem with that. My problem is with their daughter,” said Mulyadi.
He also welcomed the suspect and her family to play around in the proceeding to get lesser verdict.
However, Mulyadi will continue to wait until the proper punishment is given to the 29-year old woman. If not, he admitted that he will avenge for his son’s death himself.
“The judge can pass a verdict of 6-7 years of imprisonment over her. I just have to wait for her to be released. I am not joking. I can’t accept this. All of you will be my witnesses,” said Mulyadi.
