Menurut Sensus tahun 2016, penduduk Australia ketika itu adalah 23 juta orang lebih.

Dari asal kelahiran, 15 juta dilahirkan di Australia, disusul dengan dilahirkan di Inggris sebanyak 900 ribu orang, Selandia Baru 518 ribu orang, China 509 ribu orang, India 455 ribu orang dan Filipina 232 ribu orang.

Mereka yang berasal dari Indonesia sekitar 80 ribu orang.
