Fernando Alonso Officially Joins Aston Martin in F1 2023

VIVA – Previously, Sebastian Vettel had announced his retirement at the end of the 2022 season. For this decision, Aston Martin chose Fernando Alonso as a replacement for Sebastian Vettel to join in F1 2023.

This announcement was made by Fernando Alonso through his Instagram account. In posting a photo, he wrote the caption that he was very happy with the opportunity to join Aston Martin.

He also wrote that the Aston Martin team had a great winning pedigree. This makes Alonso have a great desire to win in this team.

“I have watched as the team has systematically attracted great people with winning pedigrees, and I have become aware of this huge commitment and desire to win.” Alonso continued writing in his caption.

Before, Fernando Alonso had chosen to retire from F1. However, in 2021, Alpine called him back to race in one of its cars.

Aston Martin chose to bring in the former F1 world champion because he wanted to build a team. They want the experience of the champion to be shared with other members.

Aston Martin is Alonso's fifth team in his F1 career. He has started since 2001 with Minardi.

Fernando Alonso also has joined some big teams, such as Renault, McLaren, and Ferrari. He won the world title twice in 2005 and 2006 with Renault.
