1. Lack of Sleep

Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease: All Cat Lovers Need to Know

Lack of sleep is one of the main factors that contribute to the appearance of panda eyes. When you don't get enough sleep, the skin around your eyes can appear pale and the blood vessels under your eyes can dilate, creating the appearance of dark circles known as panda eyes.

2. Genetic Factors

Many people may not know that genetic factors can also play a role in the appearance of panda eyes. If panda eyes are a common problem in your family, you may have a genetic predisposition to developing them.

3. Age

Aging is another factor that can contribute to the appearance of panda eyes. As you age, the skin under your eyes becomes thinner, and the collagen that supports the skin decreases. This can make the blood vessels more visible and cause panda eyes.

4. Excessive Sun Exposure

Excessive sun exposure can damage the skin and cause melanin to build up under the eyes. Melanin is the pigment that gives skin its color, and melanin buildup can cause the skin to appear darker.

5. Allergies and Inflammation

Allergies or inflammation around the eyes can cause the appearance of panda eyes. When you have allergies, your body releases histamines that can cause the blood vessels around your eyes to dilate and make your eyes look swollen and dark.

How to Overcome It?

1. Re-evaluate Your Sleep Position

Your sleep position can cause fluid to build up around your eyes. Consider sleeping on your back to prevent gravity from causing swelling.

You can also place an extra pillow under your head to prevent fluids from pooling under the skin.

2. Cut Your Salt Intake

While some salt in your diet is essential for well-functioning organ systems, too much salt can have a negative effect.

Certain parts of the body, such as the area under your eyes, can retain water due to too much sodium in your diet. Cut down on the salt to avoid next day bags under eyes.

3. Remove Your Makeup Before Bed

Before getting a full night of shut-eye, take the time to remove all your makeup. Leaving your eye makeup on overnight can cause your eyes to water, resulting in puffiness the next morning.

Use a mild cleanser or makeup wipes to thoroughly remove all traces of eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara.

4. Use the Gentle Eye Care Product

Since the skin around the eyes are very delicate, it is important to use gentle and soothing products to reduce any form of inflammation around your eye area.

5. Drop the Bad Habits

Bad lifestyle habits like smoking and drinking can do a number on your skin. Smoking weakens the skin causing premature aging. The chemicals in cigarettes can also irritate the delicate eye area.

Alcohol can dehydrate the skin, making your eyes appear dark and sunken. Limit cigarettes and alcohol, or better yet, quit for better overall health.
