TransJakarta Provides Additional Buses on New Year's Eve

Jakarta – Ahead of celebrating New Year's Eve, Transportasi Jakarta (TransJakarta) revealed to provide additional buses that operate until 2 a.m. local time for the public.
Daud Joseph, Director of Operations and Safety TransJakarta stated that there's still great public interest, and his party will provide according to needs in the field.
"From previous years, usually the number of buses we increase can be up to 25 percent of the regular," Joseph said at the Tosari bus stop, in Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Joseph gave an example, referring to data from previous years, "In corridor one, 60 buses were operating with an additional 15 buses until 2 a.m. local time,"

"However, if there is a greater need than that because the buses are always on standby, we will issue the number of buses according to need," he added.
During New Year, Joseph remarked that the number of TransJakarta passengers is usually 16-25 percent higher than usual days.
On Sundays, the passengers are around 650,000 - 670,000 but during the New Year can rise to 750,000 - 800,000 people.
The regular buses will not be sufficient. So, there needs to be an increase in the number and operating hours, he added.
As information, the DKI Jakarta government will celebrate New Year's Eve in various places, such as Ancol, JIEXpo Kemayoran, HI Roundabout, and many others.
