VIVAnews – A bomb blast shook Solo, Central Java, Sunday. The culprit, a suicide bomber, activated the bomb in front of the entrance to Bethel Injil Sepenuh Church. He died on the scene. Meanwhile 24 people had mild to severe injuries.
In response to the terror act in Solo, Abu Bakar Ba’asyir’s son, Abdul Rahim Ba’asyir saw some peculiarities in the bombing.
“So far Islam followers in Solo have never had any problem with the Christians. It has been fine. If there’s a problem, it is nothing serious. No murder or bombing,” he said when contacted by VIVAnews.com, Monday.
He went on that from the start his party was certain that an outsider played a role. “It has to be an outsider who tried to ruin Solo,” he said.
Abdul Rahim acknowledged he did not know the motive or the goal of the culprit. However, he suspected there is a plot to associate Solo with terrorism, a ‘terror icon’. “Personally I observe that Solo starts being associated with ‘terror icon’”, he said.
There were some cases as examples. In addition to the church bomb blast recently, there is the case of high-profile Noordin M Top’s death. As reported, Noordin died during a raid by 88 Special Detachment in Kepuhsari Village, Mojosongo, Solo, Central Java. “Solo’s Islam followers did not tolerate such behavior. Some external messages, diversion of the issue, or outsider’s efforts of using those names,” said Abdul Rahim.
He assumed there is a party trying to pit someone against the others. But the effort was fruitless. This is because, “religious people in Solo are far more experienced and mature.”
Although the police have not yet announced who the suicide bomber is, the suspected one is Ahmad Yosepa Hayat a.k.a. Ahmad Abu Daut a.k.a. Raharjo or Hayat, who is listed in the Cirebon bombing terror fugitives.
Does Abdul know Ahmad Yosefa? “My friends and I have not had any information. Since yesterday we have monitored (in media), seeking the suspect. But none of my friends in Solo knows,” he said.
