MotoGP Thailand has been on hiatus for two years. Previously, in 2020 and 2021, the race at Buriram was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Repsol Honda racer, Marc Marquez has fond memories of Buriram. Until now, Marquez is still predicated as the only MotoGP racer to win in the Thailand series. The predicate was obtained when racing at the new circuit which was just inaugurated by MotoGP from 2018 to 2019.

However, for now, the spotlight is not Marquez. The tough competition between Fabio Quartararo and Francesco Bagnaia is very interesting.

Quartararo tops the standings with 219 points. The French racer is only 18 points ahead of Bagnaia.

At the Japanese MotoGP last weekend, Quartararo could only finish in the eight positions. However, he was lucky because Bagnaia failed to get any points. This Italian racer fell while trying to overtake Quartararo on the last lap.
