This tragedy began with the disappointment of Aremania supporters after Arema FC's defeat in the match against Persebaya with a final score of 2-3. This defeat made the supporters take to the field and try to find players and officials.

The atmosphere became increasingly heated and chaotic until many other fans also entered the field. This incident made the police carry out prevention processes and fire tear gas and panicked thousands of fans.

Thousands of people were trapped inside the stadium and many of them fainted and died from suffocation.

The chaos at the Kanjuruhan Stadium became the second biggest tragedy in the history of world football because it created 127 casualties. Previously, according to Priceconomics, there were three deadliest football chaos in the world, one in Peru with 328 casualties, one in Ghana with 126 casualties, and one in England with 96 casualties.

This could potentially put the Kanjuruhan Stadium tragedy in second place if the number keeps getting higher.
