Jakarta – Chinese electric vehicle company BYD has officially entered the Indonesian automotive market by introducing three products simultaneously: the BYD Seal, BYD Atto 3, and BYD Dolphin.
Eagle Zhou, the President Director of BYD Motor Indonesia, revealed that Indonesia is one of the countries adopting the trend to reduce emissions through the use of electric vehicles.
"We see this as a positive development. Therefore, BYD wants to participate in this ecosystem by bringing three high-quality electric vehicles of ours," he said during the launch event at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), East Jakarta.

The three products are claimed to have been globally tested, with high production numbers and distribution to nearly 70 countries worldwide.
Zhou stated that BYD is ready to make a long-term contribution to support green and sustainable mobility in Indonesia.
"We plan to make Indonesia a long-term expansion because we see Indonesia's vision aligns with ours in supporting green and sustainable mobility," he added.
Furthermore, the Indonesian government also supports BYD's presence in the local market.
"We hope that the launch of BYD will encourage the strengthening of the ecosystem and the development of the electric vehicle industry in Indonesia," said Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs of Indonesia, in a video message on the same occasion.
As additional information, all three BYD electric cars have received a 5-star Euro NCAP certification.
Regarding the energy source, these three models operate with battery energy from the blade battery innovation created and independently produced by BYD.
